If somebody grows up in the Bronx, participates in hip-hop, and spends decades around Black Americans, does that give them equal standing to define what Black Americans should tolerate inside our own culture? That is where the Fat Joe conversation becomes a delineation conversation.

A Caribbean guest on the Daily Rap Up Crew blamed FBA for starting today’s diaspora conflict, but Black Americans who lived through earlier generations remember a very different history.

I’m old enough to remember when Caribbean and other immigrant communities openly delineated themselves from Black Americans—long before Foundational Black American was a popular term and long before the young men on Daily Rap Up Crew were even born.

That matters.

Some viewers felt the Daily Rap Up Crew should have pushed back much harder against their guest. I understand the criticism, but I also put some of that on age. They’re being asked to challenge a historical narrative involving experiences that happened before their generation was around to witness them.

That’s where people from my generation have to check the record.

Jamaicans could proudly identify as Jamaican. Haitians could identify as Haitian. Nigerians could identify as Nigerian. Other ethnic groups maintained their own culture, nationality and community interests without being accused of dividing Black people. Yet when Black Americans began publicly emphasizing our own lineage and political interests, suddenly delineation became the problem.

That chronology cannot simply be erased and replaced with the claim that FBA woke up one day and created a “diaspora war.”

This video isn’t about pretending every Black American, Caribbean or African person behaved perfectly. It’s about getting the historical order right and challenging a version of events that places all responsibility on Black Americans while ignoring what came before it.

FBA is a lineage. Delineation is the movement. And if we’re going to discuss the diaspora wars, everybody’s history belongs on the table.

That matters, because FBA isn’t an organization—it’s a lineage-based identity. It was created to replace “African American,” a term that’s been broadened to include people with no historical connection to Black Americans. When you misframe FBA as a group, it opens the door to narrative manipulation and confusion around lineage.

Why are Black American families rarely centered long-term?
And why does FBA get erased while others speak for us?

In this video, I break down how a Pan-Africanist went on Al Sharpton’s TV platform and openly called for Foundational Black Americans (FBA) to be removed from the internet, accusing FBA of “harassing” and “insulting” Africans and Caribbeans. He even pushed for Sharpton’s daughter to promote a petition aimed at silencing FBA voices online.

But here’s what they conveniently ignored.

I bring receipts, timestamps, and years of documented disrespect toward Black Americans that came long before I ever made my first FBA video. The insults, the slander, the generalizations — all ignored. No accountability for the instigation, only outrage over the retaliation.

And in this video, I’m breaking down why FBA disrespect will not be tolerated, not even inside my own religion.

Let’s be clear: Black Americans built our lineage through blood, survival, and historic resistance, while the early 1990s UN-documented tragedies in Somalia created entire generations with fractured families, displacement, and children separated from parents. For an imam to point fingers at FBA while his own nation has suffered some of the most recorded family breakdowns of the modern era is the height of projection.

This isn’t anti-immigrant.
This isn’t anti-Muslim.
This is pro-truth and pro-FBA dignity.

What we’re not doing is letting Somali influencers, Somali imams, or ANYONE in the Ummah weaponize Islam to preach open FBA hatred. If you’re Muslim, the Qur’an demands justice, truth, and unity — not xenophobia dressed up as da’wah.
